HIGH PERFORMANCE ACADEMY
In January 2010, the Rugby Alberta High Performance Academy opened its doors to a group of representative athletes as part of the Rugby Canada Prairies Academy. Rugby Alberta in conjunction with the Alberta Sports Development Centres (ASDC’s) is testing and training the athletes in a number of facets of strength and conditioning. SARFC is the proud home club to seven of the selected junior athletes: Robert Blunden, Matt Lomas, Jake Mentz, Warren Tomlinson, Sabrina Kelly, Viveca Robinson and Janna Slevinsky.
Congratulations to Andy Tiedemann who is currently playing for Canada and to Kyle Gilmour who has been named to the 2011 Canadian 7's Team. Stacie Becker has been named to the Under-20 Women's national team that will compete in the 2010 NACRA Championship in the Bahamas. Amanda Lalonde is competing for a spot on the 2011 Canadian 7's team that will play in Hong Kong.
